Forster to Leave Royals Thursday, 9th Jun 2005 15:13 Reported Town target Nicky Forster has turned down the offer of a one-year contract with Reading. The 31-year-old striker was linked with the Blues in the national press last week. Forster, who almost moved to Wigan before transfer deadline day in March, says he wants a longer contract than the single year the Royals were willing to offer him. Several Championship clubs are reportedly interested in the former England U21 international, including Sheffield United, Millwall, Burnley, QPR and Stoke City. Elsewhere, released Portsmouth keeper Shaka Hislop is being suggested as a possible replacement for Kelvin Davis. TWTD reported earlier this month that the former Reading, Newcastle and West Ham man could come into Joe Royle's thoughts when he comes to target an experienced stopper.
