Swindon striker Sam Parkin has agreed to join the Blues and will be paraded at a Portman Road press conference this lunchtime. The Blues had a bid of £450,000 with the Robins earlier in the week.

Parkin, 24, was in talks with Town yesterday and was clearly impressed by what he heard and by the tour of the stadium and the Playford Road Training centre.

The fee is payable in two instalments, £300,000 now and £150,000 this time next year. Parkin's former club Chelsea are entitled to a sell-on from the deal which saw the frontman move to the County Ground for £50,000 in 2002.

Parkin, a Scotland Future international, had also been targeted by Norwich City, Crewe, Brighton and Watford.
