Town Make Job Cuts

The Blues have announced a number of job cuts in the wake of the failure to win promotion to the Premiership last season. The number of redundancies is understood to be in single figures.

A Town statement blamed the financial consequences of continued life in the Championship: "As a result of the club facing a fourth successive season outside the Premiership, and in order to maintain a healthy business, we have identified the need to restructure certain departments.

"The aim of this process is to reduce costs without compromising the levels of service to our suppliers and customers. Sadly, this as led to a small number of positions within the business as being identified as potentially redundant."

Meanwhile, Deloitte and Touche, who are the supervisors of the Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) agreed when the club came out of administration in May 2003, have given an update to creditors: "There are no matters that we feel necessary to bring to the attention of creditors that will impact on the club's ability to perform in accordance with its CVA."

Town will finally be free of their CVA commitments - payments totalling more than £350,000 will be made to preferential creditors in September - at the end of June 2007.
