Town have offered disappointed fans of McFly the chance to watch the Blues take on Atlético Madrid in the club's final pre-season friendly on July 29th. McFly were due to play a concert in Christchurch Park on the same day but the gig was cancelled after the promoter went into administration.

Few of the 3,600 McFly fans will get their money back, but Town chief executive Derek Bowden says they could now get the chance to see their heroes at Portman Road: "We think that it's right that we offer alternative entertainment on the night and are very happy to be able to do that.

"There will be a McFly theme to the evening and we are pleased to say that we are in discussion with the group to see if they will make an appearance at the match, however it is very early days and I wouldn't want to get anybody's hopes up."

Concert tickets can be exchanged for seats at the Atlético Madrid game via the Town Ticket Office and club shops or by calling 0870 1110555.
