Sam: I'm No Kuqi Two Monday, 25th Jul 2005 18:16 New striker Sam Parkin has told fans not to expect him to be a direct replacement for Shefki Kuqi. Parkin, who joined the Blues from Swindon for £450,000 earlier in the summer, says he is a very different player from the Finn. Parkin says: "In some ways Shefki is not a bad player with whom to be compared. I have scored goals for the past three seasons but if I can get near to what he and Darren Bent scored in the Championship last season that would be great. "But although we may be similar in stature, we are different types of players. He was more of an outlet, winning balls in the air more, whereas I like the ball on the floor more." The Scotland Future cap says he is unconcerned that he is yet to net during pre-season: "It's not something I am worrying about. My last couple of performances have been good and I'm feeling fit. "It would be nice to get a goal of my own, but it is not so important scoring in pre-season games. The most important thing is to get goals once the real thing gets under way and I'm confident I shall."
