Assistant manager Willie Donachie was impressed with the contribution of trialist Sito and keeper Lewis Price during Friday's 2-1 defeat to Atlético Madrid. Donachie says the Blues could have another look at former Racing Club de Ferrol right-back Sito, perhaps in Tuesday's friendly at Colchester.

He told the club site: "The lad did well and we would like to see more of him.

"He's a good lad, a good professional and did well, but he had taken a knock or two and was also a week behind the other players in terms of fitness. That's why we took him off at the break.

"I'm not sure if he will be involved against Colchester. There is a lot to sort out but he certainly did well and, like I say, I think we would like another look at him."

Man of the match Lewis Price was also praised by Donachie: "He made some excellent saves and we are very pleased with him. Now I hope he pushes on from here."

Joe Royle's deputy felt that despite the defeat the game had been a useful exercise: "We were up against a talented side with million pound strikers and knew it would be a tough match for us, but we were always in the game and there was plenty to take out of the 90 minutes."
