Town to Offer Sito Deal

Boss Joe Royle says that Spanish trialist Sito will be offered a permanent deal at Portman Road. The former Racing Club de Ferrol full-back impressed the Town manager in training and in the friendlies with Atlético Madrid and Colchester United.

Royle says he will be speak to the 25-year-old's agent at some point today: "Sito did well in both games and the fact that he is just as happy on the left as he is on the right could be very useful to us.

"He's a nice kid who has been well received here and settled in well. He's a free agent looking for a chance and I had a quick word with him after last night's game.

"Now it's a question of ringing his agent over in Spain to see if we can reach agreement."

Sito is unlikely to go into the starting line-up for the Cardiff game even if a deal is settled prior to Saturday. The former Castellon, Calahorra and Lugo player is behind the rest of the squad in terms of fitness but could be used from the bench.

The La Coruña-born player, real name Luis Castro Rodríguez, is primarily right-sided but looked comfortable at left-back against Colchester.

Town will not be taking their interest in Guinean defender Schumann Bah any further. Bah played 45 minutes against Colchester but failed to impress Joe Royle.

Mark Fish is still expected at Town for a trial, however it is now likely that he will come to Portman Road next week. The 31-year-old South African injured a knee in training at Charlton and will be out of action for the remainder of this week.

The 62-time international has a year left on his contract with the Addicks but is available on a free transfer.
