Town are one of a number of clubs keeping an eye on Keflavik striker Hordur Sveinsson, according to reports in Iceland. The former Icelandic U21 international is out of contract in October and is likely to be available on a free transfer.

The Blues, Stoke City and Bolton Wanderers are all said to be interested in the 22-year-old who has scored 18 goals this season, including four in Keflavik's recent 4-0 UEFA Cup win against Luxembourg side Etzella.

Tall, good in the air and quick, Sveinsson is very keen to make the move into English football and looks likely to do so before the closure of the transfer window at the end of the month.

Scouts from a number of clubs including Town are expected at Keflavik's UEFA Cup tie with Mainz on Thursday.

The Blues have good contacts in Iceland with goalkeeper Óskar Pétursson and midfielder Björn Orri Hermannsson joining the academy over the summer.
