Boss Joe Royle was pleased with the way his side defended at Leicester and particularly with debutant keeper Shane Supple. The 18-year-old Irishman replaced Lewis Price after the Wales U21 international stopper injured his left knee in a 35th minute clash with Foxes striker Mark De Vries.

Royle said: "I'm really pleased with our point and delighted with the performance. We have got problems in the centre-half position and then the goalkeeper having to go off was possibly our worst nightmare.

"But the young lad played excellently and made one fantastic save. It was a promising display from him but I thought our defence played superbly to protect him so well."

The Town manager says he will wait until after Price's x-ray before making a decision on whether to look for loan cover: "We have no problems with Shane. He is a terrific prospect. We also have Andy Rhodes registered but that would be panic for both me and Andy if he was called upon! There is no decision to make until we see how Lewis is."

Royle feels his side have done well at the back this season, having picked up two clean sheets in three games: "Apart from a mad 15 minutes or so against QPR, we have defended well so far this season and if we carry on like that I'll be delighted.

"We need more about us going forward but if we keep defending well it will mean we might not have to score as many goals to win games as we have done in the past.

"We did have the best chance of the game though, when Nicky Forster went through and perhaps he was too honest in going around the keeper. Some may have just gone into the keeper and looked for a penalty, but we're not complaining, it was a decent point."

Young keeper Supple says he was happy with his first experience of league football: "It all happened so quick that I didn't really have time for any nerves to start.

"Sitting in the dressing room at half-time, it was a bit different though. They kicked in then but the lads helped me settle down OK and I was pleased with the way the game went.

"I made a couple of saves early on and that helped my confidence, and the lads in front of me defended really well.

"They have to take the credit for the point and the gaffer said after the match, 'why can't we defend like that every game?'"

Supple says he hopes Price is fit enough to play for Wales against Slovenia: "It's frustrating for Lewis, especially with a big chance of him playing for Wales in the week. We all just hope that it's not too serious."

Leicester boss Craig Levein said a goalless draw wasn't the result he had anticipated: "I didn't expect a 0-0 draw after what had happened in our last two games but that is why football is such a great game; you have no idea what's going to happen, it's never dull or boring.

"Although I think we should have won this game, I can't really have a go at the players because we have created so many chances.

"But I have said that they have had two keepers on the pitch who have both had very good days."
