No Blame for Trialist
No Blame for Trialist

Boss Joe Royle is blaming blades on boots rather than the Dutch trialist for inflicting Sam Parkin's head wound. TWTD reported on Saturday that the unnamed Dutch striker's boot had caused the cut on Parkin's head which required 20 stitches.

Royle said: "I wouldn't blame the trialist, Sam's head was a bit low, if anything.

"What I would look at more are the blades players wear these days. If he had studs in it would have just left one mark but this has left a long and nasty cut. They are the problem, not people trying too hard."

Town are also looking at another Spanish trialist, a midfielder who can also play at centre-half or left-back.
