Haynes Named in Squad

Academy winger Danny Haynes has been named in a 17-man squad for Tuesday's match against Southampton. The Blues are sweating on the fitness of loan full-back Jay McEveley and French midfielder Jimmy Juan, while skipper Jim Magilton has also emerged as an injury concern.

The veteran Northern Irishman has been suffering with an arthritic toe since the end of last season and he had hoped a cortisone injection last month had overcome the problem. However, he was unable to train on Monday and now may not be able to play against one of his former clubs. Magilton spent three-and-a-half years with the Saints in the mid-nineties.

Loanee McEveley has a sore foot but is hopeful he will be OK to make his home debut against Harry Redknapp's side.

Juan dropped out of the squad which travelled to Bramall Lane due to his recurrent foot injury and may not make it in time to take a place on the bench on Tuesday.

Haynes, a pacy right-sided midfielder who can also play in attack, is included in the senior squad for the first time. The 17-year-old was in the U18 side which won the FA Youth Cup last season.

The Londoner joined Town after being was released by Charlton Athletic in the summer of 2004 having gone on trial at Norwich City. On Saturday he netted three times for the U18s in the first half of the Premier Academy League game against Spurs at Portman Road only to see the match abandoned at half-time due to the heavy rain.

Town could add other youngsters to the squad depending on the fitness of Magilton, McEveley and Juan.

Spanish full-back Sito is unavailable due to his sending off against the Blades.

Squad: Bowditch, Currie, De Vos, Garvan, Haynes, Horlock, Juan, Magilton, McDonald, McEveley, Naylor, Parkin, Peters, Price, Richards, Supple, Wilnis.
