Summer signing Nicky Forster says he hopes to be back in action in two or three weeks' time. The 32-year-old, who joined the Blues on a free transfer from Reading, has been out of action since undergoing a cartilage operation in August.

Forster told the club site: "I have stepped up my rehab over the last week or two and, although there has been the odd reaction, I'm making progress all the time.

"I have not lost any muscle strength in my leg and it's just a case now of letting nature take its course.

"The surgeon has looked at the knee and he's happy with the way the operation went and, hopefully, I will be back playing again in two or three weeks.

"I am generally fairly fit, so my match fitness shouldn't be too much of a problem and I just want to get out on the pitch and help the team move up the table.

"We have had a reasonable start given the injury problems we've had and there is no reason why we can't start putting together a run of decent results and move into the play-off places."
