Forster Faces Old Friends

Striker Nicky Forster is looking forward to coming up against his former Reading team-mates at the Madejski Stadium on Sunday. Forster joined the Blues from the Royals on a free transfer over the summer.

The former England U21 international says taking on so many familiar faces will be a new experience for him: "I haven't really played against many of my old clubs, to be honest. I played against Gillingham a couple of times and Brentford once, but that was a long period of time after leaving them, so none of the old players I played with were still there.

"This will be the first time I'll play against players I know from a team I've recently left.

"I don't know whether it will spur me on or not. I'm just keen for us to do well and keep getting points."

The 32-year-old enjoyed his time in Berkshire, leaving on amicable terms, and hopes to receive a warm welcome from his old supporters: "I had good years there, did well and they did well for me, so I hope that there's mutual respect between both parties and admiration both ways.

"I hope I'll get a good reception from the home fans, I don't see why not. They'd be a pretty fickle bunch if they don't!"

Boss Joe Royle is yet to decide whether to hand Forster a start or use him from the bench later in the game. The frontman is not yet fully fit after his August cartilage operation.

Forster is the interviewee featured in the new issue of TWTD out ahead of the Coventry game on Tuesday. Issue 79 will be available from our sellers around the ground or via subscription.
