Away Attendances Down

Town's attendances at the first seven away games of 2005/06 are more than 50% down on the number of fans attending the corresponding fixtures last season, according to figures released by the Ipswich Town Supporters' Club.

The Ticket Office sold a total of 7,724 tickets for the matches against QPR, Leicester, Millwall, Sheffield United, Leeds, Burnley and Reading, compared with 15,980 for the games at the same venues last season, a drop of 52%. The figures do not include tickets purchased on the day of the game.

However, a slightly different picture emerges when this year's opening seven fixtures are compared with last season's first seven at Nottingham Forest, Derby, Rotherham, Stoke, West Ham, Coventry and Leicester. The figure is still down but by only 9%, 8,464 last season against this year's 7,724.
