Skard Move in Doubt?
Skard Move in Doubt?

TWTD understands that a groin injury could yet scupper Norwegian Vemund Brekke Skard's fairytale move to Town. Contrary to reports elsewhere, the Brumunddal midfielder is still to sign his 18-month deal and will undergo a medical later this week.

After missing the beginning of the Norwegian season (which runs through the summer), the 24-year-old played the majority of Brumunddal's games despite still suffering with the problem which has also affected him since he started training with Town a fortnight ago.

Skard was due to see a specialist yesterday and the club's medical men want to scrutinise the injury more closely before giving the signing the green light.

The question of whether the former teaching student will be available prior to the transfer window is also still in the balance. The Norwegian FA have reclassified him an amateur after initially deeming him a professional because of travel costs paid to him by Brumunddal.

If the English FA follow their lead and Town complete the signing, Skard could be available to Joe Royle prior to the transfer window opening at the beginning of January.

TWTD has also learnt that Brumunddal have negotiated a 5% sell-on for the all-action midfield player.
