Town's U16s defeated Arsenal 2-1 at the Gunners' Training Centre in Shenley. The U18s fared less well, losing 3-0 and ending the game with 10 men.

Jai Reason and Jordan Rhodes scored the goals for the U16s.

The U18s lost Darryl Knights, Stuart Ainsley and Kurt Robinson to injury and, having made all their substitutions, ended the game a man short.

Central defender Chris Casement impressed, while Charlie Sheringham missed a number of chances.

Watching the U18 match were former Town goalkeeper Mike Salmon, now a coach at Arsenal, Charlie Sheringham's father Teddy, Paul Goddard, now working for agent Jonathan Barnett, ex-Town coach Stewart Houston and former West Brom striker Cyrille Regis, also now an agent.
