Price Not Keen on Move
Price Not Keen on Move

Keeper Lewis Price says a move away from Portman Road at this stage of his career would hurt his international ambitions. A report yesterday claimed that Wigan, known to be keen to sign a keeper in January, have been keeping an eye on the 21-year-old glove-wearer.

Assistant boss Willie Donachie said yesterday that he knew nothing of the reported Latics interest but wouldn't be surprised if both Town's young keepers have been watched by Premiership scouts.

Price, who signed a deal aimed at keeping him with the Blues until 2008 only last month, says a move to the top flight would stall his development at international level: "If I went to a Premiership club now as a number two it would probably hurt my chances of playing for Wales because I would be like all the other keepers sitting on the bench for their clubs and that is no good for me.

"I want to be play for Wales and be involved in tournaments and carry on learning by getting those games under my belt."
