Town are reported to be ready to extend Adam Proudlock's loan spell by an extra month. The frontman's current term is up on January 1st.

The 24-year-old joined Town after being sacked by Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls subsequently loaned him to the Blues, keen to look at the former Wolves man in action with a view to a longer-term deal.

Proudlock, who is available on a free transfer, has been at Town since October but a knee injury has meant he has made only three starts and three substitute appearances. The striker is set to miss out on the Boxing Day game against Crystal Palace due to the knee problem.

Meanwhile, Wigan manager Paul Jewell has reportedly denied that he has any interest in Town keeper Lewis Price. A local newspaper story last week claimed that Jewell was keen to sign the Wales international in the January transfer window.

Elsewhere, Town seem unlikely to benefit from any potential transfer of former stopper Matteo Sereni from Lazio to Cagliari. The Blues agreed a 50% sell-on clause with the Rome club when the Italian departed Portman Road in the summer of 2002 but, with Sereni on a hefty contract lasting until 2007, any cash involved in the move is likely to end up with the player rather than Lazio or Town.

The Blues are reported to have had a scout watching Huddersfield's home goalless draw with Southend on Saturday.
