Central defender Gerard Nash has been called into to the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for an annual tournament held in Madeira. Nash is currently on a month's loan at Hartlepool.

Ireland play a Madeira side on February 14th, then Finland a day later and Portugal on the 17th. Nash, whose only Town appearance was as a sub in the 6-1 victory over Burnley in 2003, has previously won caps at various youth levels.

The 19-year-old Dubliner has made two league starts during his time with Pools.
