Nottingham Forest say the deal for David Johnson is now complete and that the player has is likely to go straight into the squad for Sunday's game with Crystal Palace.

The striker told the official Forest website: "I'm delighted to be here and hopefully I can score a few goals to help Forest win promotion. I could have stayed at Ipswich and possibly picked up a Worthington Cup winners' medal … but I desperately want first team football which is something I haven't had so far this season."

The former King of Portman Road added: "As soon as I learnt of Forest's interest in me, I set my heart on a move to The City Ground. It's a great move for me and I can't wait to get started. Hopefully I'll be involved against Crystal Palace on Sunday."
