Oldham Back for Horlock?
Oldham Back for Horlock?

Oldham boss Ronnie Moore says he could renew his attempts to sign Town midfielder Kevin Horlock. The former Northern Irish international is currently on a month's loan at Doncaster Rovers.

Moore says he would like to make an addition to his engine room: "If we're going to keep playing three central midfielders - and it's a system which is working well - we could do with an extra body.

"The three who are playing at the moment are doing OK, but we'll be struggling if one of them gets injured.

"I've made some enquiries, although the cashflow situation might mean somebody going out before anybody else comes in.

"Horlock was too expensive for us last time, but you never know when things might change.

"There's no desperate rush because the deadline is March 23rd, but if there's a player who can really improve your squad, you have to go for it.

"I would hate to miss the play-offs by a couple of points and end up wishing we'd signed a certain player."

Horlock has been told he can leave Town as his contract will not be renewed in the summer. His loan spell with Doncaster was initially planned to last three months but both club and player decided to see how the first month went before extending the arrangement.
