Boss Joe Royle has revealed that midfielder Kevin Horlock has returned to Portman Road while the former Northern Irish international's permanent move to Doncaster Rovers is discussed. TWTD reported on Friday that Rovers want the 33-year-old to join them on a two-year deal.

Royle told the club site: "Kevin is back with us at the moment but Doncaster are keen to take him on a permanent deal.

"He has done well there and I think talks are going on between Kevin and the club."

Horlock has made 62 appearances from Town since joining on a free transfer from West Ham in the summer of 2004, failing to find the net.

The ex-Swindon and Manchester City man was told in January that he will not be offered another contract at Portman Road when his current deal expires at the end of June and that he is free to find another club.

The Plumstead-born player joined Doncaster on loan a month ago and has made six appearances.
