Former Town manager Sir Bobby Robson is recovering in hospital having undergone a minor operation after a skiing accident. Robson, 73, needed lung surgery due to a rib injury after the accident in February.

Robson had the operation on Saturday and is not expected to spend an extended period in hospital.

The ex-England manager is currently a consultant with the Republic of Ireland, assisting new boss Steve Staunton. The former Liverpool defender says he anticipates Robson returning to work in the near future: "Knowing Sir Bobby he will be back fighting fit in no time."
