Haynes Wins Another Derby
Haynes Wins Another Derby

Striker Danny Haynes netted his second and third goals at Carrow Road this season as the reserves completed the double over Norwich City. Haynes put the Blues in front on 10 and, after Ryan Jarvis had equalised from the spot, won the game with another penalty just after the hour mark.

The young striker, who scored the winning goal late in the senior derby in February, was impressive throughout alongside Nicky Forster who created the opening goal and looked sharp in his first game since his cartilage operation.

Norwich's penalty came after a shot struck James Krause's arm. Town's spotkick was also for handball. The frontman, who once had a trial with the Canaries prior to joining the Blues, came close to a hat-trick when he hit the post and had another effort saved late on. Jaime Peters was also close to a goal in the final minutes.

Spanish full-back Sito made a rare and impressive appearance at right midfield as the Blues had much the better of the game with Norwich's man of the match their keeper Joe Lewis. Vemund Brekke Skard, looking for a first senior start before the end of the season, also had a sound game in the centre of midfield.

Earlier in the season Town's second string defeated their Canary compatriots 3-0 at Portman Road, Haynes again amongst the scorers.

Reserves: Price, Mitchell, McEveley, Skard, Krause, Casement, Peters, Trotter, Forster (Knights 71), Haynes, Sito. Subs: Pétursson, Webster, Leabon, Moore. Att: 3,935.
