Exiting skipper Jim Magilton says that one day he would like to return to the Blues as manager. Magilton will play his final game at Portman Road tomorrow when Town take on Derby County.

The former Northern Irish international said: "No one knows what is going to happen in the future, especially in football.

"But of course I would love to be the Ipswich manager. Who wouldn't? It is one of the best jobs in football.

"There are probably a million and one people out there who would jump at the chance - and I'm one of them.

"If the job was vacant and the time was right for me - I've got a bit to prove first - I would definitely want it."

Magilton, who will be moving back to the North-West with his family over the summer, plans to continue as a player for at least another season either in a purely playing role or as a player-coach.
