Match Too Competitive for Johnson
Match Too Competitive for Johnson

Trialist Jermaine Johnson missed out on last night's 2-0 reserve win because he is not allowed to play in competitive games. Town had thought that the Jamaican would be allowed to play in the game as long as there were no paying customers - hence free entry to last night's game.

However, it seems they were advised at the last minute that he was ineligible for the game and he watched from the stands. The midfielder is on a two-week trial with the Blues.

He said: "I'm very impressed with Ipswich Town, the facilities are very good. This is my first time in England and I can't believe how cold it is, though I won't let that put me off."

Me neither. Johnson and Richard Naylor, on the way back after his broken leg, will play in a closed doors friendly as yet to be arranged sometime next week.
