Today saw the beginning of the end for the existing floodlight towers at the Churchman's end of the ground. New brighter, whiter lights are going up on the pointy bits either side of the new stand (see http:www//twtd.co.uk/development to see what I mean).

The website has some pictures of the North Stand in its new terraced guise as workmen remove the very last of the seats. We also have some pictures taken around the North Stand on its last night in action. Feel the noise, smell the burgers, laugh at your mate caught looking daft by our camera.

The link with Manchester United's Mark Wilson is again being reported. The story stemmed from George Burley watching the midfielder in a reserve game against Bradford in January. Subsequently rumours suggested that Wilson was the £2 million Premiership player that the club said they had a bid tabled for.

Jonathan Barnett has backed up George Burley's claim last week that there were only a few "loose ends" to be tied up before Richard Wright signs a new deal with Town. The player's agent has confirmed that a deal is almost certain to be signed before the keeper goes into hospital for a hernia operation.

Town's game with Derby will not feature as a live Sky match on Saturday. Sky will instead be showing the Charlton-Liverpool and Leeds-Leicester games, both at 3pm. After Leeds made themselves Liverpool's main challengers yesterday when they won 6-1 against Bradford it was expected that Town would miss out.

Manchester City is once again claimed to be George Burley's source for new signings with Mark Kennedy and Danny Tiatto both mentioned in as Town targets. Kennedy had been reported to have committed to City, but now it is claimed he is off to Town for £1.5 million. We're not holding our breath.
Leeds Win Hits Town Sun 13th May 2001 21:21
Leeds United beat Bradford City 6-1 this afternoon to leave Town needing Leicester and Charlton to do them last day of the season favours. Leeds now have the same points as Town and have a goal difference four superior.
