Just started my own website and looking to add advertising to it but have no idea how much to quote for the space. Anyone have a website that does advertising be able to give me an idea of how much banner ads etc normally go for?
Only been going for 6 weeks, got quite a good hit rate & had enquiries from people interested but I haven't got a clue what to charge (or would it be paid by click?).
Following the Football 40 Years ago twitter feed (sad I know but brings back good memories of my first couple of seasons going to games) and found out about a tournament & match I never knew existed.
Third & Fourth Place play-off for the FA Cup.
Watney Cup - was held before the start of the season, and was contested by the teams that had scored the most goals in each of the four divisions of the Football League the previous season who had not been promoted or admitted to one of the European competitions.
Neither lasted long and ITFC didn't take part in either. Maybe I just blanked them out as we weren't in either. This was the same era as the Texaco Cup which obviously I have heard of!
I'd quite like the idea of the Watney Cup being reinstated although with a better sponsor than that disgusting beer. Would be quite interesting as a pre-season tournament and probably make some money for the smaller teams.

Digging around in my parents place, getting ready to chuck out a load of old stuff that's been in storage for years, and I've come across an old white with blue side panel Powergen replica long sleeved shirt which I've never worn. It must have been the last one I bought and must have been in a sale at the time as I stopped buying replica shirts in the 90s.
Just been looking at Classic Football Shirts website and they don't have it on there although it does look remarkably similar to the 2003-05 shirt but the other way round so I assume its an away shirt from that time? Now its seen the light of day again I've just got to decide what to do with it...and no, I can't fit into it! Anyone need one to complete their collection?
On a side note, looking at the prices quoted on that site, if I'd kept all my old shirts (got my first in 1979) they'd be worth a few quid now! Only one I miss not having is the lovely green and burgundy one from the mid 90s. I loved that shirt!
