| Forum Thread | Pre-season friendlies at 21:37 29 May 2024
To take the subject away from McKenna briefly, I’ve just seen the PL starts much later than usual due to the euros, we start on the weekend of the 18th. Given the EFL start a week before that suggests we might get another European club friendly. Perhaps we’ll get that Lazio game |
| Forum Thread | Kompanys move at 11:13 28 May 2024
Do we think Kompanys move could’ve played a part in McKenna decision to stay. It shows even if the worst was to happen this season, he could still land a top job. Going to Brighton and failing would pretty much stop him from ever getting a top top job. |
| Forum Thread | Kieran McKenna is the next Man Utd manager at 15:46 24 May 2024
Given Man Utd could’ve kept it under wraps until Sunday, after the FA cup final to reveal their plan to sack ETH, McKenna is their number one target. They clearly have thought there’s a risk he could go to Chelsea or Brighton and have leaked the information or told McKenna's representatives who have. Can’t blame him, there’s not many clubs in the world that could keep hold of a manager when Man Utd come knocking. [Post edited 24 May 15:52]

| Forum Thread | Our biggest asset momentum will be gone at 22:13 23 May 2024
With McKenna set to leave, will the next manager have to bring in more players to give us a fighting chance next season? What would’ve been maybe 5/6 with McKenna might now need to be 11/12. We’ll surely lose the momentum we’ve built. |
| Forum Thread | The BBC’s source at 16:21 22 May 2024
Given how the BBC article has been written, it’s clear the source they’ve used or at least one of them comes from within or someone close to Ipswich Town. Looks like there’s a 95% chance he’s going |
| Forum Thread | Farioli is in Brighton at 22:08 20 May 2024
Apparently Farioli is staying in Brighton overnight tonight. Doesn’t mean McKenna isn’t leaving but he’s clearly been in talks. |
| Forum Thread | He’s gone then at 21:42 20 May 2024
Well I think McKenna has gone. A lot of back pages saying that tomorrow. I think Brighton have been in contact with us for a while about him to be honest. After Leifs interview saying he hopes McKenna stays. We have to respect the fact he didn’t leave for Palace mid season, he got the job done. Who would everyone want as our next manager? Edwards? Potter? Or should we look at the first manager outside of the UK and Ireland in our history? [Post edited 20 May 21:44]

| Forum Thread | Fans moving from the cobbold at 19:34 16 May 2024
I really hope the fans in the cobbold don’t have a fit and start abusing the club staff over moving seats. We know how some of our fans can overreact. It’s the price of premier league unfortunately. I |
| Forum Thread | Changes off the pitch this season at 21:27 13 May 2024
We’ve seen a lot of chat about new players etc. But what would you change about the match day experience at Portman Road? I’d get someone in to replace Mark Murphy. Self service drink machines in the concourses. Show the scores of the top four leagues at half time [Post edited 13 May 21:28]

| Forum Thread | Should europe be the expectations next season? at 16:13 9 May 2024
Should we be aiming for Europe next season? I don’t think we’ll get top 4 but in the top 7 will be nice. A season in Europe would attract many new fans. We could build a 40-45k extension and be a massive club in a decade. [Post edited 9 May 16:17]

| Forum Thread | Coaches at 15:29 9 May 2024
Does anyone else think we could improve the role the supporters club has. Next season we’ll have kick offs regularly on Sundays, Mondays etc. Could we not go about organising more coaches. Perhaps we can contact the club and ask if they can send surveys out with interest. We could have coaches from Bury, Felixstowe, Lowestoft, Cambridge, Colchester, Chelmsford, Clacton etc. Would be much more eco-friendly and allow fans to spend more money in the local pubs and fan zone. |
| Forum Thread | Expectations with transfers at 19:20 8 May 2024
Some people think we’re going to be spending £20m+ on individual players. I think we’ll spend a decent amount, but I think we’ll spend with the potential of relegation in the back of our mind. I’d much rather we spend £40m on 7-8 players than on 2. That Ballard seems like it would be an excellent signing, Sunderland fans really do rate him. I’m sure McKenna has given Ashton his list already . |

| Forum Thread | Angry Colchester fans at 14:28 8 May 2024
I’ve seen a lot of angry Colchester fans in recent days moaning about Ipswich fans from Colchester. How well supported are we there? Are there more Ipswich fans than Colchester fans in their own town? Is that why they are so angry all the time, salty seeing Colchester station full of Town fans every other week 🤣🤣 |
| Forum Thread | 10 new players at least at 10:23 8 May 2024
I think we’ll see a lot of exits this summer. I think we’ll keep the core 15 or so. But I think we’ll sign over 10 players. |
| Forum Thread | Friendly rumours at 21:06 7 May 2024
I’ve been told by a mate at work that we’re playing Ajax away in a friendly. Our home friendly will be Atalanta |
| Forum Thread | The outrage when the club have to move 800 fans at 18:36 7 May 2024
It won’t be long you’d think until the club announce they have to move season ticket holders from the cobbold stand to accommodate away fans. League rules say we would need to provide at least 2960 away tickets. Do you think they’ll be moaning? I’m sure the club will compensate appropriately |
