Keane on Scouting Mission at Celtic
Keane on Scouting Mission at Celtic

Town boss Roy Keane was back at his old club Celtic last night watching the SPL champions beat Dundee United 2-1 at Parkhead.

Keane's potential target amongst the players on show is not immediately obvious, although the Blues were recently linked with Celtic midfielder Paul Hartley, who came on as a second half sub, by one of the Scottish tabloids.

One of this morning's Scottish papers speculates that Dundee United's Morgaro Gomis may have been the man Keane and Swansea boss Roberto Martinez were keeping tabs on.

Midfielder Gomis was born in Paris but recently won his first two full caps with Senegal, the country where his parents were born.

The 23-year-old started his career with Montpellier but, after failing to impress in trials with Chelsea, German side Freiburg and Swiss club Lausane-Sport, ended up in English non-league with Windsor and Eton, Dagenham and Redbridge, Barnet and Lewes.

In July 2006 Gomis moved on to Scottish Second Division side Cowdenbeath and, after only five months with the Blue Brazil, Dundee United manager Craig Levein took him to Tannadice for a trial. The 5ft 9in tall midfielder impressed and was signed in the January transfer window.

Since then he has made 93 starts and four sub appearances for the Terrors, scoring two goals.
