![]() Tuesday, 9th Jun 2009 20:22 Town have announced that international scout Simon Hunt has left the club with immediate effect. Hunt rejoined the Blues last summer having previously been with Town under George Burley's management. According to a statement, the move is part of the â€Ârestructuring of the club's backroom and support staffâ€Â. Chief executive Simon Clegg added: "On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Simon for his efforts and wish him every success for his future career.†After returning to Town in June 2008, Hunt spent much of the first half of last season scouting in South America, a search yielded the signing of Luciano Civelli. Earlier this year, Hunt and chief scout Steve McCall travelled extensively in eastern Europe. Former Wrexham midfielder Hunt is the first member of Jim Magilton's backroom staff to depart since the former Blues boss and his assistant John Gorman left the club in April. It would be little surprise if Hunt joined up with the Northern Irishman at Loftus Road or if further exits were to follow. Earlier in this week, Hunt was reported to be scouting for Town at the Toulon tournament with head of football development Bryan Klug, however, this now looks unlikely to be the case.
