It increasingly appears that Swansea City are the indeed club to have made an offer to Town for one of their strikers and that Pablo Couñago is the frontman involved in the deal. TWTD first reported the Swans interest in the Spaniard yesterday.

Couñago is set to have begun talks with the Welsh club after Town accepted a renewed bid, an initial offer having been rebuffed. It's speculated that the 29-year-old could join up with Paulo Sousa's squad in Barcelona where they are currently involved in a pre-season competition.

Elsewhere, the Blues are being linked with a £2 million move for Charlton midfielder Jonjo Shelvey. The 17-year-old came through the Addicks' youth system and has won caps for England at U16 and U17 levels.

The Romford-born player, who is 6ft 1in tall, can also operate as a second striker and became Charlton's youngest-ever player when he made his first-team debut at Oakwell against Barnsley when16 years and 59 days old.

Shelvey, who is tipped for a big future, has made 19 starts and three sub appearances for the Addicks, scoring four times.

Former Charlton striker Kevin Lisbie is again being linked with a return to Colchester United in one of this morning's national newspapers. However, Lisbie says he is keen to remain with the Blues and has acquired himself a flat in Suffolk: "I have got an apartment in Ipswich now and we will see how that goes for now.”

Keane wants his players to live close to the club, while Lisbie had previously been reported to be unwilling to move from his London home. The 30-year-old has two years left on his contract, although seems some distance from Roy Keane's first team at present, having been relegated to the reserves at Clacton last night and with Town understood to be willing to listen to offers.

Meanwhile, Town understands that released Wigan striker Henri Camara is on Roy Keane's wish list. The 32-year-old Senegalese international, who spent time on loan at Stoke earlier this year, was released by the Latics at the end of the season and is a free agent.

Former Manchester United man Quinton Fortune is on trial at Doncaster Rovers. Earlier in the summer, the South African was reported to be set to spend a similar spell with the Blues.
