TWTD understands that keeper Richard Wright will be out of action until well into the new year with the knee injury he sustained at Cardiff on Sunday. The former England keeper underwent a scan earlier in the week which revealed a problem which will keep him out of action for some months.

Wright collided with Bluebirds striker Michael Chopra during the first half of the 2-1 victory and was replaced by Arran Lee-Barrett soon afterwards. The ex-Arsenal, Everton and West Ham man was making his return to the side after loanee Asmir Begovic had been recalled by Portsmouth.

Lee-Barrett looks set to keep his place in the side for Saturday's trip to Bristol City unless the Blues apply for special dispensation from the Football League to bring in another keeper on loan. However, with 25-year-old Lee-Barrett relatively experienced with more than 80 first team games under his belt for Hartlepool and in the Conference with Weymouth and youngster Ian McLoughlin also on a professional deal, permission may not be forthcoming.

Former Bohemians stopper Brian Murphy joins officially the Blues on a Bosman when the transfer window opens in January, while Town also have 17-year-old Spurs keeper Mirko Ranieri on loan at present as McLoughlin is too old to play in Wednesday's FA Youth Cup tie at Tranmere.

Wright rejoined Town on a free transfer from West Ham in the summer of 2008 with his current contract up next June.

No offence to Lee-Barrett, I hope he does very well, but if he was let go from hartlepool, hes probably not the best. I would be very suprised if we were not allowed dispensation considering Begovic was taken from us during his loan period, but then again the league is an ass.

From what townfan was saying, taking out Bothroyd doesn't look like an easy task and important commanding actions will give the defence confidence. Any keeper would know that generally doing nothing in a game is something of a plus as if your goal is getting peppered with shots means that the defence aren't doing their job properly. Personally, I would like to see ALB start this Saturday. Instead of constantly buying and loaning players, I feel we should start to develop the players we already have - this will help their confidence and give them experience!
