![]() Monday, 7th Dec 2009 10:21 Boss Roy Keane says he would be happy to extend defender Pim Balkestein’s loan at Brentford. Bees boss Andy Scott has said that he is keen to keep the Dutchman at Griffin Park beyond his initial month. Keane says the Blues are pleased with the way the 22-year-old’s spell is progressing: “He seems to be enjoying it and he’s getting games under his belt. To me there’s only pluses for the player and the club from players going out on loan. “He’s gone out there, he’s doing well. He’s missed out at our place, he’s behind Tommy Smith and Alex Bruce, if he’s fit next week, and with Damien and Gareth doing ever so well over the last few weeks, he’s down the pecking order in terms of our centre-halves. “Pim needs to play games because for his age he’s not played many over the last few years. I’ve not spoken to anyone from Brentford yet but if that’s the plan and they’re interested, then they need to ask.” Balkestein has made four appearances for the Bees so far, but wasn’t given permission to play in their second round FA Cup victory over Walsall.
