Bruce Makes Shock Leeds Switch Wed 28th Jul 2010 13:08
Town defender Alex Bruce is to make a shock switch to newly-promoted Championship side Leeds United. The Republic of Ireland international had been due to join Sheffield United but the deal stalled after the Blues and Blades were unable to agree a fee.
Bruce, who watched last night’s friendly at Leiston, agreed personal terms at Sheffield United at the weekend and had been expected to complete the move early this week until the stalemate regarding the fee.
Leeds have now offered the Blues the £200,000 rising to £300,000 on appearances that they are after for the 25-year-old, who will undergo a medical in West Yorkshire tomorrow morning before formally joining ex-team-mate Richard Naylor at Elland Road.

Theres still lots of time for this deal to fall through as well! I would love to know exactly what is going through ME, Roy Keane and SImon Clegg's minds right now i really would.... they are probably having a great time!

This is more fun than championship manager on my PC! What's next? Keane brings in dream strike force of Stern John and the soon to be free Marlon King?! HaHa!! The fun and games that is the transfer window!

Our team is getting weaker every day now, what with injuries and transfers, only 9 days to go before we kick off to the real test.We have had more injuries this pre-season and only had half the games and travelling what is happening ?????????

Bruce was alright for us, I think at one stage Keane made him our captain. Let's not blindly slagging him off because he is leaving, he would stay if he got played.

hmm could this be the real reason RK stopped the blades deal???? more money, but the central defence of leeds next season is lookin good, what are the odds of bruce or naylor scoring a header against us??

Bruce's position at the club is untenable and it is best for him to move on. Doesn't seem capable of playing alongside McAuley and hasn't really lived up to the early promise. His contract antics of a few years ago particularly riled me.
Good luck Alex and thanks for the effort!

Leeds with a CB pairing of Bruce & Naylor! This is all part of RKs master plan - weaken enough other teams with our cast off that there might be on or two that we can beat. Here's one defence that we might, just might be able to score against with our sweet pea forward line - Pablo and Priskin.
