Reserves Lose at QPR

Town's reserves lost a behind-closed-doors friendly at QPR 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon. Akos Buzsaky and Peter Ramage scored the goals in a match played at the Londoners' Harlington training ground.

The Blues second string are likely to play a lot of friendlies this season with the Totesport.com Football Combination East Division containing only seven teams.

Chris Kiwomya's side opened their league campaign with a 3-1 victory over Stevenage at Playford Road a fortnight ago. Their next league fixture is against Oxford United at Portman Road next Wednesday (KO 2pm).

Reserves: Lee-Barrett, Ainsley, Dunbar, Hourihane, Brown, Eastman, Lambe, Cawley, Murray, Healy and Griffiths. Subs: Clark, Cropper, Bennett, Lavery, Meekings and Jones.

Very eager player and hungry for goals...didn't see this game but he has the ability to go a long way in our first team. Shame we lost 2-0- but no idea how we played...

Fatboy added 13:02 - Sep 1 The reserves league is a joke; the other six teams in our division are Colchester, Watford, Stevenage, Oxford, Southend and Luton. Hopefully these planned friendlies will be against stronger opposition, which will assist our players who are coming back from injury. Sounds like QPR had at least 2 decent players in their team.

QPR fielded a strong side Behind Closed Doors against a youthful Ipswich side a 2-0 scoreline was about right on the state of play, although the young Blues could have had 2 or 3 goals themselves, but faltered at the last minute in front of goal. Ipswich were a bit exposed down the left hand side where QPR took full advantage playing down this side most of the game. But the young Blues put up a spirited display and if they had converted their chances the outcome could have been a lot different . overall a good workout for the young blues against strong opposition.
