Community Trust Has New Name

Town’s Community Trust has been given a new name as part of a makeover designed to enhance its standing as a local charity. From now on it will be known as the ITFC Charitable Trust with a new badge which incorporates the famous Suffolk Punch.

Since its formation in 2003, the Ipswich Town Community Trust has used sport, primarily football, and its relationship with the club to improve the lives of children, young people and adults living locally with 60,000 people involved in its activities last year.

Trust chief executive Terry Baxter says the organisation needed to rebrand in order to raise its profile: “We are a charity that works, using the close relationship with the football club, to improve the lives of so many children, young people and adults from all walks of life.

“We have always been very proud of the amount of people we help, but felt that we needed to shout much louder about the work we do and to highlight the fact that we are a charity and rely on donations, funding and sponsorship to continue our work in the local community.

“Changing the name and the logo of the Trust is very much the start of our campaign to position ourselves in the minds of those living in Suffolk.”

The ITFC Charitable Trust will be officially launched at tonight’s game against Queens Park Rangers, with the Trust sponsoring the match. More information about ITFC Charitable Trust can be found on its new website.
