Fulham keeper Mark Schwarzer’s back problem is not expected to lead to on-loan Blues glovesman David Stockdale’s return to the Premier League club. The Cottagers inserted a 24-hour recall clause in the 26-year-old’s season-long loan deal.

Cottagers boss Martin Jol is hopeful that the Australian will be fit for their Europa League game against Danish side Odense on Wednesday: “He’s got a problem in his spine but a specialist is coming to see him this afternoon [Tuesday] and we’ll make a decision. I think he’s got a great chance of playing.”

Schwarzer, 39, previously suffered from a back problem in September when there were also concerns that Stockdale might be recalled.

Meanwhile, Stockdale and Ibrahima Sonko will be at Planet Blue in the Buttermarket on Thursday (6-7pm).

hellotosh1967 added 20:53 - Dec 13 what we do need at ipswich is a better keeper i certainly think that stockdale is extremely over rated he is not commanding enough in his area far to hesitant and also not vocal enough so i would love to see another keeper here a good goalkeeper can take an awfull lot of pressure of his defence think verybody could this be the reason why we have been so uncommanding at the back !!!!!

I agree with Tractor Jed ,Stockdale is overrated but he's done ok for us with a dodgy defence so he's ok in this league.However he was poor against Barnsley and if he'd been sent off in the first half we would have lost the game. Not sure about Loach? Best the scouts start earning their money and find us a new keeper and defence for the future.About Time!!!

saffronblue added 16:24 - Dec 14 Richard Wright is good cover and would be happy for him, to be No 1 if Stockdale gets recalled. Not sure about Loach, one of my mates is a Watford season ticket holder and doesn't really rate him.
