TWTD Questionnaire 2021/22

Q11 Worst match of the season?

The Bolton game - a debut Christian Walton will want to forget - seems like it was about two seasons ago so much has happened since then. Town were in the end well beaten but had Macauley Bonne taken his chance just before half-time seconds before the Trotters' third, it was a game the Blues could conceivably have won.

Barrow away and Charlton were particular low points in that period between managers when Town rarely seem to perform - 7-0 at Chelsea after Roy Keane's departure, 3-0 at home to Sheffield Wednesday after Paul Jewell's - while the Cambridge game was similar to the annual struggles against Tranmere back in George Burley's days as manager.

Rotherham were probably the one side to come to Portman Road and out play Town during the season.

The Rotherham comment is a very important observation. If we can cultivate a winning mentality when we boss the match, we can coast into the autos next season…..and I think we will under Mr McKenna.
