TWTD Questionnaire 2021/22

Q60 Overall, how would rate Town's 2021/22 season?

It was a bit of a season of two halves, wasn't it? Frustration under Paul Cook then growing hope for the future under Kieran McKenna but ultimately without making the end-of-season shake-up.

This time last year Town had finished ninth and 62.6 per cent of those filling in the survey voted very poor and 28.2 per cent poor. The Blues may have finished two places lower in 2021/22 but there is greater hope and expectation that next season will be one in which we all have something to celebrate.

Amazed at more than 75% scoring last season as average or above. In actual fact astounded.

Whilst i think McKenna, Ashton and the owners have done a good job in their time and rated accordingly i don't see how last season can be rated as anything other than poor. 11 in L1 is terrible but i firmly believe everything is now in place to make a real good shot at it next season.

N2. The position we ended up in is irrelevant as the points required to get into the playoffs were way above the norm. Usually ud need around 70- 72 points, this year it was over 80. Ok, we'd likely still have missed the playoffs, but only by around 1 or 2 points. And would likely have finished 7th. So no, not really what id call a poor season. Am a bit surprised anyone voted it as very good mind you. Think it got so many good votes purely bcse of the improvement fans saw under mckenna.

Interesting idea that entry into the playoffs should be given to any side that achieved a fixed points target, rather than the traditional way of a fixed position in the league. Facts are we achieved our lowest position since before the last coronation and ten clubs did better. It's baffling that anyone could even call that average, but I suppose the many years of mediocrity have conditioned people to be satisfied with failure.

I love the idea that our league position is "irrelevant". I now understand why Cook's ineptitude was tolerated by fans for so long...
