Crap away day 23:22 - Jan 21 with 6008 viewsmonytowbray

Crap result, crap team, crap performance, another run out for Dougie (Does he have to shag Mick's wife to get dropped!?), "Sit down Thermo flask" brigade out in force in our end, stewards giving unwarranted crap to fans to the point I sparked up a fag in the stand out of spite.

All this after Lincoln, I've been up since 6am and now in my way to London with a hangover from this afternoon.

If Tuesday was the thread dangling then today it tore off. Firmly in Mick out camp now.

Given that the away end was half empty, how come you got grief from people who wanted to sit?

Those who choose to use the seat they've paid for and/or don't sing have a more positive effect on the team than those singing detrimental songs about how sh!t we are and nonsensically booing when Douglas came on for Dozzell despite the fact Dozzell was invisible for the whole first half. But then you were probably too busy singing songs directed at a female Huddersfield fan making fun of her weight, calling her a whale, a monster and 'you're gonna cry in a minute' instead of paying attention to what was going on on the pitch.

Ipswich fans indeed.

Callis has repeatedly scorned people for not supporting town in the right way. Think he's just confirming a theory that I and a few others had this morning that the following will be subdued today for a number of reasons.

Personally and again this is just my pondering, I find it conceptually strange that some choose to earmark their entire Saturday from very early until basically midnight travelling and choose to sit in silence during the game. Each to their own though, naturally.

I go to the games with my father who never sings. He would always choose to sit and will always tell anyone standing and blocking his view to sit down or move. But believe me, he still kicks every ball and has done since the 50's.

The demographic of town fans is quite unique, I believe, and I find it conceptually strange that people don't understand that.

I do understand the demographic point, I have made several previous posts about it. My original post wasn't about demographic as in my experience there are plenty of older fans who choose to stand in the lower North and plenty of younger fans who sit at aways.

Our proportion of this type of fan is minimal compared to others. Some away days all I see in the home end is groups of lads who are old enough to know better in clothes their mum has got them from John Lewis.

Without a doubt. Wasn't a comment on anything other than their conduct which was being discussed and the fact that Callis is about as polar opposite of them as possible.

I love away days and catching up with people not seen for ages. Just go to nearly all away games in the north. Having a laugh etc. Win, lose or draw its just being nice at a different ground.
