£1m???? on 22:30 - Feb 21 with 4052 views | gtsb1966 | Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I'm sure if the British intelligence services had anything on him at the time he'd have been detained. The problem was they didn't so rightly at the time he was a free man. Unfortunately he turned out to be a complete c***. Let's hope the devil is shafting him with a red hot poker as we type.
£1m???? on 22:32 - Feb 21 with 4046 views | vapour_trail | Human rights eh, who needs them. I guess this fella wouldn't have been entitled to his compo if he hadn't been locked up without trial in a country he'd never set foot in, and systematically tortured. Now, before you get too excited, this isn't a defence of the guy, but it's a reason we have process for dealing with criminals. Unless you have a preference for guilty until proven innocent of course, in which case I understand your sympathy with the methods used at guantanamo.

(1) she's a member of the labour party but don't let that influence your post. (2) If the British intelligence services have no evidence what are we to do. Lock people up who seem iffy?

Re point 2, Trumps plan seems to be to not let muslims anywhere near to civilisation. Although that's not proving too popular

As is usually the case with these matters, you speak from a position of unparalleled ignorance. A very small effort of research outside of your standard sphere of chosen media outlets would tell you otherwise, but that isn't going to happen. Don't want to challenge those "old fashioned "beliefs do we. It seems strange to me you opt to live in this country. You seem better suited to a legal and justice system where people are judged without evidence. You could try Syria. I appreciate this is all a waste of time with the likes of you, but here's just one link for you, if you can be remotely arsed http://www.cbc.ca/beta/news/world/most-guantanamo-detainees-are-innocent-ex-bush

I suspect therein lies the problem, proving who's been where, done what and with whom. The legal system is obviously far from perfect, but it's the best we've got and a lot better than a lot of countries. They got it wrong in this case. Good material for the alt-rights to score points over muslims though. And good for Tories to score points over Labour.
