Apologies if anyone has suggested this before but a rather obvious summer transfer target could be a certain Daryl Michael Murphy.
He hasn't payed much this season (9 games to my knowledge with 4 goals), they are clearly getting promoted and with limited squad sizes he will surely be surplus to requirements so either available on season long loan or a small/free transfer. Sure we won't get close to his current wage but it must be a definite possibility?
Question is - would it be a good move for ITFC or would it be a step backwards?

I think Murphy would rather take the 50k a week he'll probably earn in the Prem, and I don't blame him. |  |

Sell a player we need to replace at some point, don't invest the money and then bring him back when discarded by his current club?
Murphy has done what Newcastle brought him for and ruined our season because we didn't replace him but to bring him back would be disappointing. I doubt we could afford him for next season anyway. |  |
