Well do something about it then...... 09:21 - Oct 26 with 10043 viewsAxeldalai_lama

So many people on here and elsewhere saying we are the most forgiving fans and we are all stupid for not protesting, and how if we were other clubs there'd be mass protests by now, and how it's the worst for 58 years.
It's really, really simple. There appears to be plenty of you.
Organise some protests.
Write to the club, the press, post on social media.
Organise boycotts, walk outs, etc.

Or admit you're exactly the same as most of the rest of us. Annoyed at the mediocrity of the club and the staleness, but ultimately realise it's not that bad, modern football is sh1t and plod along tutting.

Organised protests would look utterly stupid at this stage. We're 4 points from the play offs with a game in hand. I know it was all early season but that's how it would look to the football world.

The best protest if people feel strongly enough and are able to 100% commit is to write to the club and say they won't renew their ST if MM's option is taken. There is the risk that this will end up making people look a bit stupid but that is up to them.

We still have a chance at the moment, however small, and people trying to whip up protests would be the final nail in our season's coffin. Give it until Chrismas, see how things are going and then if people feel strongly enough and we're out of the running then protest away. I do think it would be very sad if MM leaves on a sour note. Whatever people think of his style of football he did save us from relegation and he HAS done a good job since on a tiny budget. Ideally he would leave by mutual consent with a warm send off.

The consistent decline in match day attendance and season tickets continues to do the talking and has most definitely been recognised by the club, but unfortunately the response will be to make more offers on ticket prices, not change the manager or give him a bigger budget.

The club knows what the fans think, they're human beings and footy fans themselves, but the club is a pure business now and emotions are gone, along with the family feel the club always had, sadly.

We sold our soul and that wasn't a problem, the problem is that we sold it on the promise of greener pastures before our soul was reaped, but those pastures never materialised, we never got out of the swamp.

Maybe this will happen eventually. On the one hand we're not going anywhere fast as a club, as has been the case for some years, on the other we're in no real danger of imploding.
What would light the fuse?

Can't argue with that.

The name of it has made it seem even more tinpot for some reason. Like it's some sort of pre-season joke tournament. Time to scrap it. Replace it league cups for each division except the Prem who are too precious to play so many games. A play off place to the winners of each cup.

How's that then?
Haven't changed at all.
I'm generally a bit annoyed at the mediocrity and staleness at the club, though don't really blame MM or ME specifically, modern football is sh1t. I think it's probably time they moved on as their time has probably run. I think we should make them aware of this through polite "protests" informing them they've helped us in the past but we move on, probably at the end of the season.

Others seem to be really really angry and are annoyed at our fans for not protesting and being as angry. I've simply suggested they should all get together and protest, if that's what they think, thus fixing the issue of the fans taking it lying down.
I don't think an agressive, demanding style protest is warranted so wouldn't take part, but if that's what people think then crack on.

That's a great list.

Expectations of the fans is a big problem. At the start of any season in the Championship there'll be:

4 teams that are targeting direct promotion
8 other teams targeting a play-off position
8 more teams targeting a top half of the table finish
4 teams setting out to avoid relegation.

Failure to meet these targets is usually met with incredulity despite the odds normally being stacked against them. A post mortem follows which more often than not identifies available funds as the key to success. Money invested is seen as proportional to a club's seriousness about the task in hand. I don't play computer footy games but I'm sure this belief has its roots there.

About football console games: I'm sure that everyone who plays it long enough gets good at it and the game makers reward players with success. Real life doesn't work like that.

I don't think people realise that if you take the very best 20 FIFA '17 players in the world and put them in a league against each other, there'd be just one winner and 3 who look completely clueless.
