So many people on here and elsewhere saying we are the most forgiving fans and we are all stupid for not protesting, and how if we were other clubs there'd be mass protests by now, and how it's the worst for 58 years. It's really, really simple. There appears to be plenty of you. Organise some protests. Write to the club, the press, post on social media. Organise boycotts, walk outs, etc.
Or admit you're exactly the same as most of the rest of us. Annoyed at the mediocrity of the club and the staleness, but ultimately realise it's not that bad, modern football is sh1t and plod along tutting.

You cannot protest given the current league position.
My gripe is that I have no regard or affinity for ME, imo MM has reached his shelf life at the club and I'm just bored of going.
I canceled my ST on Sunday. I'm happy with that decision, I feel like I've acted on my own displeasure without needlessly making the problems out to be worse than what they are in reality.
I'll be back when I see a club with ambition and desire to make a fist of it.

My, collated over time, proof that Modern football is rubbish-list:
People comparing real football to Footy Manager/Fifa in thinking signing a player is as easy or when you sign a player they pipe up with "Oh he's good on FIFA has 82 Speed, and 74 pass rating"
Fan tv videos and the people behind them thinking they're important and some spokesman of the fans
Twitter club accounts ran by fans, who also have the same delusion they're spokesman of the fans
People who can barely add up suddenly thinking they know how to run a football club, and how qualified people dont know what they're doing but this person does.
Champions league, containing lots of non champions. Then teams dropping out of it into totally different competition. Madness.
Pre-game handshakes and theme tunes for whatever competition it is.
"Assistant referees” behind the goal in European games.
Music played over the PA when some teams score.
Grown men in giant animal suits as club mascots.
Managers being under pressure of losing their job a few months after qualifying for Europe
Players diving, play acting, rolling around and just blatantly cheating.
Agents being celebrities.
Referee's being made professional, yet being no better than when they had to teach PE during the week.
24/7 coverage of the sport, really watering it down. There's just too much of it.
Premier League "fans" all over the world latching on to the best teams and then mocking peeps who go and watch their local teams week in, week out for decades about being sh1te.
Everyone demanding instant success NOW.
Peeps watching the match in the stadium via their phones or iPads. Or even worse, filming themselves at the match giving a running commentary and then uploading it via YouTube
People being more interested in the finances than the actual results and matches
Football message boards.
Wearing T shirts with the name of a team mate who has hurt his leg a bit.

Have you been ? Have you watched the behaviour of some fans? Have you listened to the pundits and wondered why they see a different game & wonder if it is because they are 'experts'? Why do we just go and watch rubbish and not protest?
I seriously wonder why some people do go given how much they moan. And don’t get me started on those that expect the owner to cough up millions but complain about paying an extra £10 a year for their season ticket.... it was quite noticeable how the atmosphere at the ground became more pleasant towards the end of the season as the attendances fell.

I believe it became fashionable to go to watch football matches a few years ago. People with no real interst in the game went because of that. Now as costs rise and budgets tighten many will drop away, we hope it is those that see football as a fashion accessory. I have been going to PR for more than 60 years and can still remember Town's meteoric rise under (then ) Alf Ramsey but I am realistic enough to understand that an 'Owner', in modern times will not chuck money at a football club located in a low wage area in a relatively small rural town with low wages maning the club will almost certainly never pay its way. Having said that what MM's team(s) show on the field of play makes the gate price very expensive

Organised protests would look utterly stupid at this stage. We're 4 points from the play offs with a game in hand. I know it was all early season but that's how it would look to the football world.
The best protest if people feel strongly enough and are able to 100% commit is to write to the club and say they won't renew their ST if MM's option is taken. There is the risk that this will end up making people look a bit stupid but that is up to them.
We still have a chance at the moment, however small, and people trying to whip up protests would be the final nail in our season's coffin. Give it until Chrismas, see how things are going and then if people feel strongly enough and we're out of the running then protest away. I do think it would be very sad if MM leaves on a sour note. Whatever people think of his style of football he did save us from relegation and he HAS done a good job since on a tiny budget. Ideally he would leave by mutual consent with a warm send off.
I couldn't care less what note MM leaves this club under be it sour or not. He is NOT bigger than this club.

This is Ipswich we are talking about here, when people wrote to the club they posted it on every aspect of social media they could for a 'like' Add up these three things together and you have a disaster of a football club
Marcus Evans transfer kitty + Mick McCarthy + a fan base of an average age of 45 that can't let go of what they watched in the 70's 80's
So many comments 'can't protest when 4 points of playoffs' ? No, you can't, whys that? How about we wait until it's 4 points off the bottom 3? No, you can't - they need your support more than ever will be the cry.
You get out a banner in protest and honestly the people around, look at their faces, they are horrified that you've dared to care.
Most people at Town games now use it as an excuse to go to the pub, so would they really want to use up precious beer time to try and make a stand? Would they fck, they'd rather jump on here from the pub to try and belittle those that have made a point.

RIP ITFC
So go and ask the questions then if you're not worried about getting likes.
Edit: For what it's worth I believe you would. Unfortunately for all the ones you say would do nothing because they're happy as we are, there are the same amount who hide on here, complain about how bad it is and would do just as much.

No one has said he is. I'm saying he has done a good job in the circumstances.
Look at it from the perspective of attracting a new manager. I can see the advertisement now:
Come to Ipswich and enjoy a budget competitive with the lower mid table teams! All the fans ask is that we play champagne football, win derbies against a team worth tens as much as what ours is and compete with the big spending clubs in the league. If you fail mission impossible you'll be booed out of the stadium because you aren't bigger than the club!

Fair enough, but what distinguishes the ones who would/could/might do something but don't, and those that just don't?

I done my bit last season, was a joke to see fans reactions around me or on here.
I won't be at the AGM tonight unfortunately because it's again fell on a night when I'm working nights. However I get the feeling I'd not last in there two mins as my passion would be seen as aggressive and that would stick out like a sore thumb in that room full of happy clappers
