"I genuinely feel sorry for you, and other Ipswich fans. I remember the Burley and Joe Royle days, you played some fabulous stuff.

Nowadays Ipswich are awful to watch, so boring, but unfortunately for you McCarthy finds a way to get results it would make sacking him seem harsh.

Isn’t it something like 17 straight years in the Championship for you? McCarthy could stay there until the day he dies and you will still be plodding along, playing an unfavorable style of football and being rooted to midtable with the odd hope of a playoff push"

from a derby fan? Who got relegated the same year as us - have spent millions, and in that time have managed one season in the premiership - otehrwise their record is exactly like ours, midtable, with occasional playoff pushes.

Nail on the head?

How the hell is that nail on the head?

They just lost to us in their own back yard.

You'd think he'd be more worried about their own problems.

Utter nonsense.

He sounds quite bitter in defeat.

I'd take him off the Christmas card list.

From your part, if you can't even enjoy an away win, clean sheet and surviving a bit of a second half onslaught, then you might as well give it up too.

Silly comment from s bitter self entitled fan. We are in different era now and football has changed. We weren't miles behind under Burley in terms of resources to buy players, we were under dino joe but he was fortunate to inherit burleys squad and a great youth system before PL academies started hoovering up all the players. The derby fan should be wondering why they don't perform like they did under clough if they can't see that.

We didn't win again there because of a better squad, we won because of better tactics. Well done Mick

Great win against in form side !

However the derby guy is right we do not play a very attractive brand of football!

Well quite, and that season they were up they were absolutely bloody awful. Is it still the lowest points tally?

I would add, a couple of spectacularly collapses to Derby's record in that time though. Mustn't forget those as they were properly hilarious.

We play the level and style of football our budget dictates. We are not Arsenal.

With regards to the style, it’s far more attacking and entertaining compared with the last 18 months.

Do you remember every time we visited Vicarage Rd & we kept on losing to brutal, ugly, physical hoofball?

Yes we were all frustrated & bitter. But we never wished to be subjected to that style of football at PR. Ever.

People have small memories.

But he ignored their style of play which was hoof/long ball. Especially in the second half they kept hoofing the ball straight out of defence to Martin. I'm ok with him making a point but at least admit their style of play is the same hoof football.

You should've replied with:

'Actually.. I feel sorry for you. It must be agonising supporting a bunch of players that come and go every year or two on massive wages that have little care for your club. During this cycle of players, you watch new managers come and go every couple of years all the while knowing that, should you make it into the playoffs, your bunch of perennial bottlers will fail to get promotion. You will therefore be stuck in the same league as we are with your entire fan base looking forward to the annual home defeat to a team that are 'boring', 'awful to watch' but also unbeaten in 10 at your ground'.
