On a peak time commuter train into London from Ipswich this morning and everyone is still observing social distancing and has a mask on, every single one actually which is very surprising and re-assuring as wasn’t sure what to expect this morning.

Appreciate that masks public transport is still mandatory but was half expecting a push back on that today.

Come on, you know journalists will be writing about this today and tomorrow. For those of use who hope to visit England in the next month it will be a useful bit of local knowledge, and probably without the tumult of hyperbole that a BBC report involves.

Oh, and when I checked worldometer last night it was not comforting to see the United Kingdom leading the World in new Covid cases.

Prevalence of mask-wearing may determine whether soemeone feels comfortable going out into crowded areas or not. Especially if they themselves cannot use one for medical reasons and are thus relying upon the carefulness of others.

its not that much effort tbf. The last few days are simply 'masks and social distancing in operation, cases 50,000 average per day'

I own a shop and must admit to being a little apprehensive about what today would bring, but so far everyone I've seen has been wearing a mask apart from a lovely older couple who asked if I minded that they weren't wearing masks.

Visited a supermarket near my office to buy my lunch and a few essentials in the London burbs. 100% observance of mask wearing, despite the supermarket having taken down the signs. All good.
