Pigott and Bonne 12:15 - Nov 4 with 2135 viewschrismakin

Not exactly the time to see changes made but do you think we might slowly start to see a bit of swapping between Bonne and Pigott?

Potentially could lose Bonne for 6 weeks after Xmas.. we are going to need Pigott to be ready for this. What would you do? Keep as is and just deal with it when it happens. Or gradually bring Pigott into matchday lineups..

Never be afraid to share your thoughts.

We’re going to have to get a striker early in the window.

We definitely have to start to get Pigott more involved with the news regarding Bonne.

I'm not so worried about the call up for the two games, but missing him for up to 6 weeks at a critical point of the season will be crucial and Pigott will need to be able to step up and have some kind of form behind him

I think he'll definitely be leading the line in the next two cup games for sure and hopefully he gets a few goals under his belt.

Give Pigott a start against Col U so he’s ready for the Oxford game.

Have you supported Ipswich for long?

Zim will romp to the final, Bonne will doubtless have a leg break getting off the plane back at Heathrow.

Peak Ipswich.

And no Covid restrictions to stop Bonne going to SA or Zim this time round either.

I wonder if MB might decide not to go? He’s clearly enjoying himself so much at the moment - will he want to harm our promotion chances and potentially lose his place in the team?

Going to an AfCon would be pretty amazing, but not sure it’s a clear cut decision.

Cup games? Yeah, absolutely. Bonne's nailed down for league starts though.

He could, but equally the country can ask UEFA/FIFA to ban him for the same duration.

If they go out in the group stages he would likely be back in time for Accrington, meaning he only misses 2 games. Perhaps another reason why we could do with progressing in the FA Cup as doesn’t the 3rd round tend to be one of those weekends he would miss?

That’s pretty nuts isn’t it? Are you essentially forced to play for a country if they call you up, regardless of whether you want to or not?

I’d start Pigott in both and put Bonne on the bench for Oldham and Norwood on the bench for Col U.

Interesting. He must have reached agreement with them not to play.

You can't just say no, was the point of my original post unless you want them to try and ban you from playing for your club.

Common sense all round here you'd hope.

If we can get Pigott firing and take Bonne out of the limelight for a few games it might also help our chances of signing Bonne in Jan.

We def need to get the Pig on the goals trail.

I take it the 6 week assumption is based on lowly Zimbabwe winning the cup.

More likely to be 2 weeks I guess?

Play Pigott for the Colchester and Oldham games (contradicting what I said in another post) and play Bonne for the Oxford game. While he’s as prolific as he is, we should play him every game we can. Pigott will get his chance - it’s a long old season, regardless of international call ups.
