Some of the comments about players we might sign Ainsworth gave today on Sky were interesting, "If the rumours I've heard about players they are going for are true, they [Ipswich] are going to be a huge force next season"
Either way, there is real scope to fine tune this squad now.

Maybe get in a versatile midfield player who can cover either attacking or defensive roles and is a good set piece taker.
Only bring in any loans that are significant improvements on what we already have (think Bullard/Gio/Fraser type loans).

In my view
This is where we need to improve based on weaknesses we’ve seen this season. Whether through trading or changing focus for loans we need more strength, height, pace and goals. Add to this, we have seen weakness defensively in 4 which means either it’s a 3 or we need to look at defense too.

I disagree. The last thing we need is bomb squad mk2. Two strikers, a better LWB and another midfielder, preferably one of the last two being able to take set pieces. Keep changes to a minimum and let the team develop.
We have loanees, players who’ve not done it, peripheral players to lose and the squad needs to be smaller, not least to offer opportunity to players coming through. Baggott has potential. He needs a few steak dinners, but he has presence and no little ability. We don’t need a new centre half. We are strong enough in that area even if say Burgess moves on. |  | | |

I like Evans and Morsy together, I know some are not fond of Evans- but I think he plays well with Morsy and I feel Morsy plays better with Evans by his side. The big question in MC is El Miz- is he going to improve enough for us in the short term?
AM - Dobra has shown little to be inspired by here or at Col U, is it symptomatic of his skill level or training/management/coaching - hard to say. I am not fond of Chaplin- he's alright but is not very consistent. I like Celina if that deal comes around - but whatever happens, we need an AMC who is clearly the #1 pick and one who is clearly a deputy, not this frequent rotation business.
Does Baggott go out on loan? Not for the 1st half of the season IMHO. Get him playing with the senior team in cup games, get him bedded in - I think that is more important for him than having to go somewhere all season and adapt to a new football culture. If his minutes dry up at Christmas, then send him out on loan.
Other youth players I suspect we might also see a cameo from next season are:

Bailey Clements (LWB)
Tawnada Chirewa (Does some really exciting things in the U23)
Cameron Humphreys (Well regarded by KD)
Tyreece Simpson (If he stays)
Tete Yengi (One of my favourite youth players who I really hope breaks through)
Forwards - Keep Jackson, especially if he is playing out wide. Much like AMC, we need a #1 pick for a striker and a clear deputy. I don't have faith in Piggott or Norwood. This might be a place we should look to fill with a loan. Someone akin to Troy Parott, who has had a decent year this year, and I think he would have done much better with us had we not had Lambert's Busted Flush playing around him. |  |

Compared with previous seasons it feels like there is real consensus about what we need in the summer with the priorities being at least one striker and a left sided player to balance with Burns. Next would be support for Morsy in CM (has Bakinson done enough?), possible replacements for Aluko and Celina if we don't sign them permanently.
Perhaps more interesting will be those who leave. It feels very unlikely we will see Norwood, Bonne, Hladky, Carroll, Kenlock next season. You would think Pigott would want to reset his career elsewhere. Could see KVY, Edwards and Penny pushing for a move if they are not getting a sniff in pre-season, El Miz may feel he needs a loan or a move. Will Harper, Dobra, Ndaba feature in pre-season? | | | |

I seem to remember Bakinson was a loan with a fee agreed so I would expect him to sign perm.
I think another additional centre midfielder, an experienced striker plus I’d like to loan this McNeil (I think his name is) from United who has scored bucket loads of goals at youth level.
A left back which is a priority and a back up goalkeeper.
