The pair of you need to give your heads a wobble. Clarke is playing through an achilles injury. Williams isn't quite ready and Janoi is out injured.

When tht changes, Clarke will have an opertion.

Give the lad a break.

Can you not not see he’s carrying an injury?

You really can. He's lost a little pace and is getting caught forward with the ball over the top where he'd usually be able to get back with no problem. If you watch him he is also sometimes wincing when passing and isn't as accurate into Wes as he's been. He was getting lots of encouragement from KM in the first half. We should appreciate his commitment to the cause.

Hopefully, the break is good for him and Williams can help alleviate the demands being placed on his Achilles.

Watch the video of the goals. His positioning is nothing to do with an injury, or if it is, and he isn't able to track a man out wide, then he isn't fit enough to be playing as a Right Back at the moment.

Burns RWB with Hutchinson (then Jackson) would be preferable. Or Jackson at RWB. Or possibly Cam Humphreys. Or, in extremis, Ball at RB and change the way we play.

Clarke needs to get right.

Last season his pace was frightening, one of the quickest fullbacks I remember us having.
This year it’s so obvious he’s at 70% of that.
I made mention vs Bristol rovers, in the cup, when he came on he didn’t look right, his face told me he wasn’t right

Seems to be a certain amount of disappointment that we won in some quarters. Deeply, profoundly weird - now of all times.

Burns gave him absolutely no protection in the first half and Cardiff exploited it well - no need to need call out Clarke

The irony of this comment is that Ball is the only one you listed who WOULDN'T require a complete rework of how we play. Watch how Clarke plays in possession. Burns or Jackson there makes no sense whatsoever.

Have to agree.

Clarke was poor today.
He’s either fit enough to play and if he is needs to play much better or should be dropped; or be replaced because he’s not fit and have an operation if that’s what is needed.

Ball is obvious replacement, or perhaps Edmundson in a back 3, whilst Williams gets fully match fit.

Twas ever thus.

Guarantee that if the internet and TWTD was around in 1980, there'd be people saying Thijssen and Beattie should be dropped for missing penalties even though we'd just stuck six past Man Utd.

Very hard to objectively judge a player's speed in different games.

If he was genuinely even 20 percent short of last season's pace, he wouldn't be playing. The sports science guys would be all over it.
